When is the last date to drop this semester?

The last date to drop for Fall Semester 2004 is Wednesday, November 10,  2004.

When is priority registration?

Priority registration for Spring semester 2005 begins November 1, 2004 and ends November 5, 2004.  You can make an appointment with your advisor prior to registration to take advantage of the Web registration.

Why do freshmen have to come in for special interviews ?

The UAH College of Engineering is working hard to improve the success rate for our students, particularly those students in their first two years at UAH.  As part of our efforts we are meeting with all freshmen at least three times during the freshmen year.  You will need to contact our office by calling (256) 824-6877 or stop by EB 157 to schedule a time to meet with an advisor.

When will my file be sent to my department?

Freshmen and sophomore engineering students are advised out of the Engineering Student Affairs office irrespective of their major.  Once the student has completed the calculus sequence their file is sent to their major department.  The student will be notified by mail that there file has been transferred and that they should arrange to meet with an advisor in their department to register for the next semester's classes.

Where is the Engineering Student Affairs office?

The College of Engineering Student Affairs office is located in the Engineering Building in room 157.  This is on the south side of the building.

Where is my department office?

bulletDepartment of Chemical and Materials Engineering

The department office for the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering is located in the Engineering Building in room 130.  Room 130 is located on the first floor on the north side of the building near the north entrance.

bulletDepartment of Civil and Environmental Engineering

The department office for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is located in Technology Hall in room S201.  Technology Hall is located at 5000 Technology Drive, west of Sparkman Drive.  Room S201 is located on the second floor on the south end of the building near the south entrance.

bulletDepartment of Electrical and Computer Environmental Engineering

The department office for the Department of Electrical and Computer Environmental Engineering is located in the Engineering Building in room 272.  Room 272 is located on the second floor on the south side of the building near the west entrance.

bulletDepartment of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Engineering Management

The department office for the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Engineering Management is located in Technology Hall in room N143.  Technology Hall is located at 5000 Technology Drive, west of Sparkman Drive.  Room N143 is located on the first floor in the north-west corner of the building.

The department office for the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is located in Technology Hall in room N274.  Technology Hall is located at 5000 Technology Drive, west of Sparkman Drive.  Room N274 is located on the second floor in the north-west corner of the building.

What is a Charger Chaser?

A Charger Chaser is an upperclassman in Engineering who has volunteered to support the College by assisting the Offices of Engineering Student Affairs with recruiting and retention activities.

Applications for Charger Chaser positions are taken in the Spring Semester.  Charger Chasers generally, as funds permit, receive a small scholarship.
