The College of Engineering requires that all entering freshmen place into Calculus A or higher or take the Mathematics Placement Test.  Further, the College of Engineering requires that all entering freshmen take the Chemistry Placement Test.  The University may require entering students to take an English Placement Test and/or a test of English as a Second Language Test.

Mathematics Placement

bulletMathematics Placement is determined by the Department of Mathematical Sciences.  The criteria are published by at: http://www.math.uah.edu/placement/index.html.
bulletA new placement test will be used starting this fall, the Accuplacer® by The College Board.  To prepare for the placement test you can practice at Naugatuck Valley Community College Mathematics Department at: http://www.nv3.commnet.edu/BCASERTA/MATHREVIEW/.  or the Hunter College Mathematics Department at: http://www.huntcol.edu/math/eggleton/Practice%20Tests/contents.htm.
