Master
of Science in Engineering with an Environmental Engineering Major
The
Late Entry Accelerated Program (LEAP) has been initiated to clarify the
prerequisites required by students who have not graduated from an ABET
accredited institution or students with a baccalaureate degree in a
"hard" science. The major advisor will confer with the students on an
individual basis to determine the appropriate course of action and formulate a
proposed list of courses to be completed prior to unconditional admission.
Listed below are the prerequisites for admission to this graduate program.
Minimum
Requirements
1.
One year of an appropriate combination of mathematics and basic sciences (these
must include differential and integral calculus and differential equations)
Calculus and Analytical Geometry (MA 171, MA 172, MA 201) -- 12 hrs
Linear Algebra (MA 244) -- 3 hrs
Differential Equations (MA 324) -- 3 hrs
Physics I/II with Lab (PH 111, 112) -- 8 hrs
Chemistry I/II with Lab (CH 121/125 &CH 123/126) -- 8 hrs
2. Total Math/Science -- 34 hrs
3. One year of engineering science (32 semester credits) The following courses
are required to be completed before the new graduate student may take any major
graduate courses (see attached LEAP requirements)
Computer Programming (EE 197
or CS 113) -- 3 hrs
Statics (CE 271) -- 3 hrs
Nature and Properties of Mat'ls (MA 294) -- 4 hrs
