The mission of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is to provide a high quality civil and environmental engineering education that instills in our students the fundamental knowledge, analytical skills and practical abilities necessary to prepare them to be leaders in their profession. Through excellence in teaching, research and service, the department promotes opportunities for the intellectual, personal, and professional growth of our students, faculty and alumni, while providing graduates who are prepared to support the diverse needs of Huntsville, the State of Alabama, the region, our nation and the inter- national community.
